SunEpoxy 100 Overview

This epoxy coating is designed specifically for floors.  SunEpoxy 100 has low viscosity for self leveling and penetration. It also provides  maximum build and durability, and is often used in combination with vinyl color flakes or quartz, which are broadcasted into the epoxy as a filler and for added durability.  These solutions all provide a monolithic, seamless, non-staining floor which is ideal for tough, hard-to-handle applications.

If an aggregate broadcast is desired, the standard 20 – 30 mesh silica, or Monterey-type sand or decorative color quartz are ideal choices.

Vinyl color chips are available in a range of sizes and colors.  Sizes are 1/8 inch, 1/4 inch, or 1/2 inch, and can give the look of terrazzo or granite. If the solution is for industrial plants or food processing areas, a double broadcast floor is typically used.  A double broadcast solution achieves a somewhat smooth and uniform appearance. This means easy cleanup and easy movement of rolling carts and materials.  The texture of the surface can be varied from aggressive to smooth, which means a wide range of slip-resistant finishes. An aggressive non-slip finish is perfect for wet areas such as showers and food preparation areas, while a smooth “orange peel” surface may be ideal as easy-to-mop textures suitable for offices, hallways or laboratories.

Features and benefits:

  • Seamless, with no grout lines or grooves
  • Minimal odor
  • Low volatile organic compounds (VOC)
  • Withstands a wide range of elements including oils, grease, brake fluid, fats and even red wine!
  • Resistant to a wide range of chemicals, abrasions and impacts
  • Provides a wide array of economical, resinous flooring options

Where to use it:  SunEpoxy’s texture can be varied from aggressively slip-resistant, perfect for wet areas such as showers or food preparation areas, to a smoother “orange peel” texture perfect for offices, hallways or laboratories.
Add SunFlek quartz beads or SunChips solid or multi-colored vinyl acrylic paint chips, which can enhance the texture and aesthetics of these dynamic concrete coating applications.

How it’s done:  All coats of SunEpoxy are applied with brush or roller. Once the first bond coat is applied, an optional seeding of chips or quartz beads can be added. This provides a slip resistant and decorative, seamless floor solution. A second top coat is then applied which encases the effects.
