Sunstone

Architectural Limestone Coating
“This limestone coating overlay looks and feels like real stone”

SunStone Overview

To transform a plain concrete surface into an authentic looking, quarried stone surface, the SunStone architectural limestone system is the solution. The stone-like surface effect can be achieved without the big investment of stone. The material can be applied over a range of existing surfaces because of its unique qualities. Existing surfaces that can be covered with SunStone include:  concrete, cinder block, brick, walls, stucco, hardboard, foam, pre-cast moldings and more. When you have the choice of getting exquisite results from this limestone concrete coating, there is no need to tear out existing concrete.

Features and Benefits:  The natural appearance of this architectural limestone coating provides a unique surface. The need to tear out and re-pour concrete is no longer necessary with the SunStone System – just like with all Sundek overlay systems.

Where to use It: On any surface where you want to have natural limestone coatings, SunStone can be applied. It can be installed over a multitude of different surfaces including: concrete, brick, foam, walls, cinder block, drywall, hardibacker, stucco, pre-cast moldings, and much, much more. Sunstone provides a look and feel of real quarried stone but does not requre the investment. The surface look can be changed to suit updated finishes.

Some of the most common installations for SunStone include:

  • Pool Deck surrounds
  • Driveways
  • Patios
  • Planters
  • Entryways
  • Retaining Walls
  • …and almost anywhere you want it!

How it’s done: Only certified Sundek trained craftsmen can install the SunStone System. It is applied by trowel, so the creative skill of the Sundek artisan installer is what creates the custom look and textures. Installers can also carve hand-carved designs into the SunStone and this will create travertine, slate, tile, flagstone, or any custom pattern. The combination of hand-carving and applying creative coloration systems (like oxides and stains) can create some of the most beautiful and authentic looking decorative concrete surfaces available today.
